Coach Alex goes into points of performance on a fundamental movement we program for clients: split squats

In addition to the movement in the video, we even further modify these movements as needed, based upon client’s needs: adding pads to limit range of motion, or adding a stable support to hold onto for assistance/confidence building. We can also of course make these more challenging by adding and increasing load and positioning of load.
As balance, coordination and strength improve, these improvements are easy to see via increased range of motion (removing or decreasing pad height) and often no need for additional support.
For more advanced lifters, we’ll see marked increases in weights moved, or the addition of tempos and other training stimuli. It is very rewarding for clients, and we love knowing our members of all ages, from those who’ve struggled with stepping off of curbs to powerlifters wanting to see their totals go up, benefit from smart programming and coaching of these fundamental movements.
