Check yourself for alignment of your daily habits and practices and your expectations.

Question: Do my habits reflect the results I expect?
Yeah, I said it.
(Sorry? Nah.)
We’ve all had unrealistic expectations at some point, whether it was thinking that adding in a scoop of the newest GNC product would have us leaving our 3 hour gym session looking puuuuuuuumped for more than an hour, or that eating a salad once last week should have weeks’ long carryover to our weight loss goals. But. Let’s be real for a moment.
How long do you stick to something? How rigid are you about what you need to make happen in order to … make IT happen? Are you fairly consistent on the weekends? Is there a flavor of ice cream for your every mood or a standing pizza order for every new episode released on Netflix?
We get it.
But until you can align at least some of your habits with your expectations, there’s a good chance there’s always going to be a chasm between what you want and what you’ve got.
So be real about it – for yourself and the benefit a reality check can bring. Enjoy yourself this weekend, but don’t think you can’t make the changes just because it’s the weekend. Or if you spend 20 minutes making a plan for the coming week, make sure you figure out how to be accountable to actually execute your plan.
