Surely it’s not just me … ?
Who says the holidays have to be all about indulgence — OR restriction? ???????? Wethinks you can enjoy yourself and do it ᴡɪᴛʜᴏᴜᴛ ɢᴜɪʟᴛ ᴛʀɪᴘꜱ (or needing to roll yourself out the door after a holiday meal) that can come with this time of year.
???? I don’t know about you, but I don’t necessarily want to deck the halls with (only) protein shakes and veggies ????; but I don’t mind adding in foods that help me feel good for workouts I enjoy.
????I’ve also learned that I can add in foods I love without “earning” it via exercise or rigid goals.
???? If you’re training for a very specific goal, such as a bodybuilding competition, then yeah, you’re going to make different choices. But for most of us, eating more calories here and there doesn’t mean the end of all the fitness gainz and goalz we’ve worked so hard for the rest of the year.
???????? We can also continue to fight to get into the gym, knowing we always feel better after a good workout, without treating the gym time as punishment for eating food we love.
???? You may not relate to all of this, and that’s okay. We just wanted to put together a few affirmations for you to think about during the holidays, whether you needed to remember one or all six. After all, this time of year will come every year, and who wants to ride the up and down rollercoaster that can be so easy to jump on between Thanksgiving (okay, Halloween) and New Year’s (ahem … Valentine’s Day for some of us — been there!).
