Why Consistent Nutrition Matters More Than Perfection

When you’re trying to decide on a course of action in improving your nutrition, regardless of the goal(s) you have,

Good Nutrition Doesn’t Require 100% Perfection

We believe that good nutrition—the kind that has you moving toward your goals, then maintaining them AND the lifestyle that supports them—doesn’t require signing your life away to 100% nutrition perfection. I͎t͎ ͎r͎e͎a͎l͎l͎y͎ ͎d͎o͎e͎s͎n͎’͎t͎.͎

Overcoming Limiting Beliefs About Consistency

Of all of the good takeaways for changes over time resulting from solid nutritional practices—

But you’ve gotta let yourself change your mind about those limiting beliefs telling you, “But I’ve tried this before. I mess up, and then all my results go out the window.”

Nope.

Flexible Consistency: The Secret to Sustainable Success

You “messing up” (which likely isn’t really a thing, either—it can actually be a functional, positive part of your plan!) isn’t the problem. Quitting is. Not adjusting is. Being rigid is. There’s a reason “flexible consistency” is one of our coaching “catch phrases.”

Small Adjustments Lead to Consistent Nutrition Habits

Being non-compliant with the plan you came up with because you’re not perfectly executing means either:

a) You’re human. You’re not perfect. b) Your plan isn’t a good fit for your current lifestyle, and/or you haven’t made the changes in your lifestyle to work well with the plan; c) You don’t have the accountability you need to determine how to “hack” the above … and then actually do it. You know, that accountability thing. (Don’t try to hack the “being human” part, even with accountability … We don’t know how to do that. Yet.)

So your plan may need adjusted, your lifestyle may need adjusted, your mindset involving all of the above may need adjusted, and then you may need to adjust your expectations of HOW you’ll execute. And HOW MUCH you’ll execute. Whew. Not exactly encouraging?

Good thing: It doesn’t even take a massive adjustment. Small shifts are great. We call that “moving the dial.” And it works. But you have to decide: Are YOU willing to do the work?
